The New Zealand-born conductor Gemma New will be making her debut as guest conductor with The Cleveland Orchestra, filling in for Bramwell Tovey in performances at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music on July 26, where she will lead the Orchestra in the 2019 Cooper International Competition; and at Blossom Music Center on July 27, where she will be conducting Sibelius' Finlandia, Saint-Saëns' Cello Concerto No. 1 featuring cellist Gautier Capuçon, and Elgar's Enigma Variations.
