Gemma New will make her debut at the Dallas Symphony Orchestra from November 8-10, conducting the orchestra in Debussy's 'La Mer', along with the world premiere of Steven Mackey's Timpani Concerto, and the Dallas premiere of Salina Fischer's 'Rainphase'.
The New Zealand-born conductor will also take part in the orchestra's first annual Women in Classical Music Symposium, which takes place from November 6-9 and will feature talks and panel discussions on topics relevant to women in the classical music industry.
